Frequently asked questions

These are the questions Phoenix owners ask us most. Every answer is what we would tell you on the phone.

We hold a general contractor license in Phoenix. We do roofs, water damage, fire, smoke, mold, asbestos, lead and demolition. One company covers the whole job.

Yes. Our Arizona license is ROC #315042, and we are bonded and insured. We are an EPA certified firm, and we hold IICRC and TRI certificates.

Omar Vizcarra opened Vizcom in 2017 and still runs it. He spent two decades on construction sites before that. His son Omar Jr works in the business now too.

We cover the Phoenix metro area, including Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Buckeye, Tempe. If your city is not on that list, call and ask. We travel across the Valley for emergency work.

Yes. Two generations of the Vizcarra family work in it, and the family name is on every truck. You deal with the owners, not a call center.

Roof checks, repairs and full replacements. We work on houses and on commercial buildings. That covers storm damage, old shingles and the check a buyer or a lender asks for.

Look for cracked or curling shingles, water stains on a ceiling, sagging, or granules in the gutter. Most Phoenix roofs last 15 to 25 years. Book a free inspection and we'll show you photos of what we find.

Most homes take one to three days. It depends on the size of the roof, the material and the weather. Commercial buildings run longer, and you get a timeline in writing before we start.

Asphalt shingles, concrete and clay tile, metal, foam, flat and low slope systems, and modified bitumen on commercial roofs. We'll tell you which one suits your building and the Arizona heat.

Shut the water off at the main if a pipe caused it, and cut power to the wet rooms if you can do that safely. Take photos and video before you clean anything, because your insurer will want them. Then call us, since mold can start within a day or two and early drying saves material.

Extraction and the first drying usually run one to three days. A full structural dry takes three to seven days, measured with meters rather than guessed. Repairs after that depend on how much material has to come out.

Yes. We assess the structure and rebuild what burned, take soot off the surfaces, treat the smoke odor and clean what can be saved. Fire is hard on a family, so we keep you posted at every stage.

Yes. Monsoon and haboob season brings wind damage, hail, water pushed in under tile and trees through roofs. We tarp the opening, pull the water out, then repair the roof and the structure.

You cannot tell by looking. Asbestos was common before the 1980s in pipe insulation, floor tile and glue, siding, popcorn ceilings and drywall compound. If your home is that old and you are renovating, or a material is damaged, have it tested first.

We test the material and seal the work area so fibers stay inside. Then we take it out under EPA rules and haul it to an approved dump site. Never scrape or sand it yourself.

Mold is a health risk if you have asthma or allergies. Call us when it covers more than about ten square feet, or when it is in the ducts. Call us too if you smell it but cannot find it.

A small contained patch can be done in a day or two. Moderate growth takes three to seven days, and a badly affected building takes a week or more. The moisture source gets fixed as part of the job, or the mold comes back.

Yes. Lead paint is common in homes built before 1978 and it is hardest on young children. We test for it, remove or seal it under the EPA renovation rules, bag the waste properly and test the area afterward.

No. The inspection and the written estimate are free, and you are under no obligation to hire us. We show you the photos and explain what needs doing now and what can wait.

We inspect the property and document it with photos and video. You get a written scope and estimate you can read. If insurance is involved we deal with the adjuster, then the crew works to that scope and we walk the finished job with you.

We record the damage with photos, video and measurements. Then we write a line by line estimate your insurer can read. We are contractors, not public adjusters, and we work with every carrier.

Damage never lands at a convenient time, so we can talk through payment arrangements for your project. Raise it when we walk the job and we'll tell you what is possible.

We warranty our own work. Where the materials carry a maker's warranty, we register it for you. The terms are written into your agreement before work starts.
